As per TRAI guidelines, every business must register on the Blockchain-based DLT platform to send Bulk RCS in India.
What is DLT?
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a block-chain based registration system mandated by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). It is designed to track every RCS sent across the network to eliminate spam and fraudulent messages. Under this system, businesses must pre-register their Entity, their Headers (Sender IDs), and their Content Templates.
Registration Process
Entity Registration
Register your business as a 'Principal Entity' on any mobile operator's DLT portal with your KYC documents.
Header (Sender ID) Registration
Once approved, register your 6-character alphabetic Sender IDs (Headers) for Transactional or Promotional use.
Content Template Registration
Submit your RCS templates with 'Variable' placeholders {#var#} for approval before sending.
